Two items from the SFWeekly:
Aaron Peskin to quit politics. Which is sad, as he had really just begun to evolve into a real leader, capable of moving us away from some of the bullshit that dominates local politics.

Art Agnos gives up on San Francisco. Note the Peskin reference at the end of the article.
Are we truly doomed to become Monte Carlo or Venice, a city just for the rich and tourists? I don’t really think that’s the case - I think there is still a good chance to get San Francisco back on track to being a vibrant, diverse city well into the future… but it sure doesn’t help that cause when the few mature politicians we have just walk away.
Cab 666 will be sticking around.

Because really, forty-thousand dollar cash payments to be split between a playground and a consultant are the best way to handle the difficultly of the city’s permitting process.
